They wouldn't do this...would they? Of all the things to jettison....Stephen Russel!!!
It's just a game...but...somewhere a small part of me still held out some hope that EM wasn't going to screw this up, even though my faith in EM has been all but shattered with almost every bit of leaked info. This video leak sinks the ship for me if it's true. :( If there is no Russel, it's not Garrett. If they aren't using Russel, why not reate a new character, make a new game? Just quit pretending to make a Thief game already and do something cool and original!

GAH. I'm crushed if this is true.

Also...this is the same footage we saw leaked two years ago. Pretty much everything in it has already been seen. So, is this REALLY the official trailer or just some cruel joke? Please, let it be a joke.

Hopefully, this is a joke.

There's a strong chance that this so-called "Garrett" will be a different kind of character than the one who we know and love...and in the end, many may feel glad that a lesser pretender isn't voiced by SR...that is, if they end up being interested in the game at all.

Honestly jtr, I don't believe they give a rats ass what it means to us. Up until this trailer, I privately held onto some small investment in it...that it wouldn't totally turn me off as a long time fan, but it has done just that. I honestly didn't believe EM would do it, but they have completely lost me. All that they've said has been lip service. All they're interested in making is something vaguely resembling Thief. I would have had a heck of a lot more respect for them if they had even made a Thief game with a brand new character. I could have accepted all of the changes they're making if they had done that, but recasting Garrett? That's just too low for me.

Well, it could be an April Fools thing (the exclusion of Stephen Russell), but the trailer has been posted on their (http://www.youtube.com/user/ThiefVideoGame) official YouTube channel now.

This was also made not too long after EM had thought long and hard on introducing a new player character, so how much of that was carried over into their idea of Garrett? :laff:

I mean my god look at the tone of your posts here. You're all acting like this is some big huge personal betrayal precisely calculated to upset you. Grow up or get funny, kids, because this "they don't care about us!" martyr business is really, really old. Don't you people ever leave your houses?

So Stephen Russel isn't voicing this time around. Hey, guess what, maybe he had other obligations. It's not like he isn't a busy guy. Yeah, I'd like to see him voice Garrett too. But it's not the end of the world if he doesn't. If SR not being in the game is such a dealbreaker for you, well that's your prerogative but maybe y'all better double check your priorities.
