WOOOO.
disappointed in north Carolina, we might go Obama yet but it seems unlikely. Its so close that it has to indicate a new trend. We got democrat in near everything else, but for some reason we always go republican in presidential election. When you think whats at stake here, the first African American president, its unsurprising that this area went republican by 1% or less, but with that in mind, this really is a victory in a way. Without that buffer of racist bigots that undoubibly exist here still, Obama would have won, and those people for the most part don't have too many more years in them, and good people though they may be, the world won't miss them too much.
Edit: dude, seriously surely I'm not that fucking stupid. Obama is ahead in NC and mccain is behind. Either I've drunk too much or not enough. Go NC WOO.

Hey, at least I get to use the one-armed bandits and get to vote early in MD!
Phatose on 5/11/2008 at 04:55
Uh, look, it's not like I was voting for McCain, it's just as far as I can tell, we were fucked yesterday, we're fucked today, and the long term forecast is still fucked.
It's nice that Karl Rove's monkey sock puppet is out of office and all, but it kind of seems like celebrating the captain being relieved of his post after we've already hit the fucking iceberg.

Good. Now I wonder what's happening to Bachman.
As for the President-elect Obama, well, I hope he'll prove himself worthy of reelection.
(edit) Bachman 48% - Tinklenberg 42% as of now. Oh, well. I didn't expect much from those Lakers, anyway.

Nice concession speech. Nice to see him find the class that has always been attributed to him.
I am speechless. This could be the start of an amazing chapter in this country.
Apparently Obama has been quoted saying that he wants to "speak to McCain" regarding his impending presidency. Wouldn't it be something if he was on the Cabinet in some capacity? :o

Well so many years have passed since that fateful day in 1963 and the dream has come true.

Independent McCain, the one from the 2000 primaries and his concession speech tonight, could have won this election. I wonder where's he's been for the past year or so.
