Money, power, glory. Those things don't matter, and worse, could be the end of the human race.
We know now how the planets and stars and other celestial bodies work. We also know that at any time an observatory might find a celestial object on a collision course with the earth that we have no hope of diverting. The end of the human race, and hell, all life on this planet. Now that we know this for a fact, I can't understand why we haven't left our petty squabbles behind and become scared enough to focus on establishing human colonies and other life on other celesial bodies. Several moons of Jupiter are mostly water. Lets at least send some probes there with organisms that survive in the arctic waters on earth. That would ensure at least some biological continuation.
I don't understand why no one has seen how imperative this is. By not giving up our desires for self aggranizement we are literally endangering the survival of the human race. We can have wars after we ensure our survival. Pour the money we spend on the military into space technology aimed at establishing a human presence on other planetary bodies. We are playing russian roulette with our very existence. The lack of interest in this is making me think maybe we should be extincted. We're too stupid to deserve survival if we refuse to accept how dire this situation really is.

In spite of the jist of my words in this thread so far, I've been talking to my mom a lot today. She is really helping me to understand the shit going on in my head. I'm starting to realize exactly what has happened to me in the past. I might just be the most fucked up person in the world, and believe it or not, I kinda like that idea. I'm not attached to it though. Hopefully by the time I sort this out I'll feel like a normal person again. Hopefully. Otherwise you will be reading about me in the news. To be sure, I hope it's an obituary come that eventuality, I would rather die than kill, as retardedy weak as that sounds (unless I was a soldier, obviously)
