Effort. - by Josh68

You get an E for effort. Is that a reward? I don't think so.
I think the only reward for effort comes when the result of the effort is evaluated. If you fail in your task, your reward is a pat on the shoulder, nothing more. If you succeed, the reward befits the task.
Consider the retard that is convinced he has telekinetic powers. He goes and stands in front of a tree and exerts all his might to lift the tree out of the ground. He is so convinced he can do it that he exerts so much effort in the task that he dies of a heart attack and accomplishes nothing. Should he be rewarded?
Now consider the man who tries to lift a car off of a pregnant woman in a car accident, but then dies from the exertion and fails. Is his effort to go unrewarded also? He was just as stupid, he died doing something he shouldn't have tried to do either by impossibility or extreme risk.
So is effort to be rewarded? I'm sure it is, but I have decided to just present negative examples of effort in this post. ;)

Scientology is so universally regarded as repugnant that I haven't even investigated it yet. I suppose I might someday out of curiousity.
AR Master? He writes stories. I provoke thought (and am usually hated for it)

Unfortunately, it's only one thought. Something along the lines of "Josh68 is a loony".

Should I call you an asshole, call you a liar, or just say "The frogs are croaking."?
P.S. Why isn't anyone considering what I actually said in the OP. Too hung up on yourselves to give me a debate? Too sure you are right? Too sure I am sure I am right to bother trying to prove me wrong anymore?
