Editor Troubles - it's writing logs into my games folder. - by New Horizon

Not sure what's going on here but for some reason, T3Ed has suddenly started writing all of its logs to my t3game folder when I run it. Seems to happen mostly when I use the Send to Xbox command.
Not sure why I'm getting this cross pollination but it's very frustrating and it's causing my t3game installation to act up.
Keeps happening even after I format both my OS partition and my games partition.
It just doesn't make sense. :( Anyone else experience this kind of foolishness?

Are they the same set of logs? I know I have a set in both places (and I suspect it's a SendtoXbox thing), but they aren't the same - the save folder has t3main.log and all the "game" kind of things, while the game folder has t3ed.log and a load of "editor" stuff.
It doesn't mess anything up for me, but it sounds like you have seperate editor/game installs - which did you do first, and how?
The thought on that is that if you installed to the t3game folder, then copied to the t3editor folder then the default paths (like in the registry) will be to the t3game folder. Maybe you can change it with the default.ini or regedit? That way at least they might be out of the way rather than meddling with things.

Just not sure why it would start doing this out of the blue. I haven't had any issues with the editor creating files in my thief3game folder before. It just started happening for no reason. Oh, I am using the separate folder technique, I like to keep a clean installation.
It baffles me to no end why an autoplay file and three ibt files would appear in my game folder after running the send to xbox command. Just doesn't make sense. Perhaps my editor download is corrupted for some reason.
I've reformatted twice but it's still acting up. I'm completely at a loss.

How do you switch between game and editor? Are you using dracflamloc's loader?

Yep, I've used his loader all along with no troubles.

The only times when I had logs written to the "wrong" directory (the savegame folder of the game actually) were:
1) when I had copied T3MainReleaseVersion.exe to the game folder in order to be able to use the command console with the game.
2) When the game was last started through the loader and I then run the editor without the loader (game paths still present in registry).

I'll have to run some tests to see if I can trace it back to when it started happening. If memory serves, it may have happened the first time I used xp-lite on my Server 2003 installation to remove Internet Explorer completely. XP-Lite isn't programmed to work with Server 2003 but the support staff gave me a fix to allow it to safely remove IE. Without the fix, MSN accounts would fail to login. It may have some other side effects.
Checking to see if it may have been my partitions as well. So I merged my partitions and reformatted again to try that out.
I'll find out soon enough.

Hmmm, it must be XP-Lite causing my issues....although nothing else is affected, go figure.
Just to refresh my memory. Is everyone else able to access the command console when running a level with the Send to Xbox command? I am bloody sure I could before but after all this nonsense, it no longer works for me.

nope dont think you can at least not in the same way...

Nope, I can only access the console using the editor version of the executable. Send to Xbox throws me into the release version where the console is unavailable.
