Nobody is going to make a sequel that you couldn't independently follow, anyway, but maybe the perception matters and that's what they're after. I get the idea, but I wonder how much difference that would really make with people seeing it on the game shelf.
It was the most likely reason for us not getting
DX2 and
Thief 3 but
Deus Ex: Invisible War and
Thief: Deadly Shadows.
In a world where they had to change
The Madness of George III to
The Madness of King George for the sole reason that producers were afraid audiences would stay away from the third film in a series...

To be fair,
The Madness of George III is a terrible title. "George III" is one of those annoying grammatical constructs that's spoken differently than it's written. You don't actually say "George 3", you say "George the third". And besides that, the fact that he was a king is a far more useful distinguishing characteristc.

How about changing a game's name from Fahrenheit to Indigo Prophecy to avoid confusion with a Michael Moore film?

And I am sure that Truffaut used this title to allude with Moore's film... :eww:

Don't worry about Deus Ex 3. I recently spoke with an editor of PC Gamer, and he's getting some exclusive information about it in the next few weeks.

Apparently releasing a new Tomb Raider game every freaking year wasn't such a smart idea.

They mentioned that they're still going ahead with more Lara games, but this time they're going to re-envision the character to appeal more to girls.
One guess. Next time, she'll be wearing pink.
