Does anyone know the location of an unenchanted ebony staff???? or do they just pop up randomly in treasure??

does it have to be a staff?? can it be a spear??
although i don't know if it that was just a 'random' treasure...

I found one in the Redoran Treasury but i got the impression that the contents was random so you might have to do the 'save, load and repeat' method to get an ebony staff.

He probably wants the staff for enchanting purposes. To my knowledge, an ebony staff has the highest enchanting rating of any weapon in the game. Either 90, or 100.. I can't remember. Which is kinda weak if you ask me... I think there should be a unique weapon out there with an awesome enchanting rating.. like 250. Just seems odd that they would make it so you can, if you do it right, get 1 soul that has 1000 charges, but nothing special to enchant it with.
As far as where to get one... I have a few. One, I know I got from a Dremora Lord, but that kind of stuff is random. I do believe I got one from one of the vaults in Vivec, though I'm not 100% on that. Have you been through those?

The Telvanni stronghold has 2 ebony staves as a gift to the owner, one is available at the level 2 stronghold at the alchemist and the second comes with the enchanter who arrives for the level 3 stronghold.

i found one in the dome on top of Marandas, well east of Balmora, southwest of Lake Nabia. if you can get up to the top story without going through the building you'll be ok, but if you go in theres plenty of fightin' to do. but theres nobody in the dome, so go in and look around, its in there somewhere (was for me anyways, wouldn't think it'd be random).
P.S. i have the XBOX version, don't know if that'll mean it won't be there on PC, ah well
