So today I got home and checked my inbox. I had 35 different mails from eBay confirming my listing of 35 different CAMO hoody jackets (which, of course, I do not have and have never listed). Assumed it was a spam/phising thing, but logging into my eBay account, I had 4 alert messages from eBay, saying they canceled all of those auctions because I illegally circumvented fees.
Late, I got a message from eBay saying my password may have been compromised (fortunately, by this point I'd gone and changed my password).
How does something like this happen? I'm knowledgable about phishing and have never entered my password into any e-mail link or anything.
And more importantly, why? It doesn't appear I was robbed of any money or anything. Did they just hack my account so they wouldn't have to pay selling fees?
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I'd scan your computer for viruses, or maybe do a clean reformat if you can spare the time and effort. If your password isn't easy to guess and you haven't given it to phishers, it's possible that someone obtained it with a keylogger or some other type of trojan. A virus scan couldn't hurt.

Did a virus scan and a trojan scan to boot - didn't find anything (other than the usual tracking cookies that one inevitably gets).

What's your AV?

AVG. Used aSquared for the trojan scan.

You're right, it was probably Tux's fault.

He did it for the phish.
