Hiya
I recently noticed I have a copy of Arx that came bundled with my Graphics Card. The problem I'm having is that there are no unified drivers on the disk like the FAQ states, I'm guessing this is because it's a bundled version or something. Anyone know where I can get them?
Cheers

Follow the link, man. UNIFIED drivers. They have sound support as well as video. Why would I post the link if it was wrong?

Yes, that's a unified driver for nVidia's nForce, nForce2, and nForce3 motherboards. It includes EAX drivers (although IIRC the nForce sound hardware is
not from Creative), but will be entirely useless (if not downright dangerous) if you do not have such a motherboard in your system. As such I would suggest there are a variety of potential answers to your latter query, Fig455, and while you're not
necessarily wrong in this instance (I've no idea what motherboard Cortex has), it certainly wasn't a good general-purpose response to the original question.
The driver included with the original disc is from Creative (or at least has their logo on it), and I really couldn't say whether it's best to install it or not these days as it might have been superceded by your current drivers, but you can (
http://rapidshare.de/files/6168719/EAXUnified.exe.html) grab it here (as copied and uploaded from my CD).

Ok I installed it but I still cannot make the EAX stay checked in audio options.
I have a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Digital. The drivers that came with the card are more to update then the ones on their support page (which is a little odd as I bought the card well over a year ago). Anyway thanks for the drivers, they were exactly what I needed. :)

No, not odd. Business as usual for Creative, LOL
Yeah, and he provided ZERO information on his specs. No, I didn't provide the BEST link, but he didn't provide the "best" info to go on. He bought an Nvidia card and that is all I knew........

Okay, that's a ridiculously defensive response, Fig455. If someone doesn't provide enough information you can either ignore them or ask for the missing details. Picking some driver that may or may not be what they need and stating flat out that you have given the correct answer when someone questions the validity of the suggestion is not only not the BEST way to help, but pretty much the WORST. Installing drivers for hardware you don't have can seriously mess things up.
Not having enough information is only a good argument for providing no help, not for providing bad help.

Hi,
This thread is a couple of months old, but i have some info on it to share.
The Nvidia drivers mentioned below are definetly not the drivers Cortex needs. The drivers you want are on Arx Fatalis disk 1 (well it is on my disk 1 anyway... other copies may vary, i dont know).
It is called EAXUnified.exe and is in d:\autorun\redist\
I have the very latest Creative Labs sound card (X-Fi Fatal1ty) with the latest drivers and i still need to use the unified driver to enable EAX in Arx! Go figure.
