Hey dudes.
I can't enable EAX effects, even though I've got a Creative X-FI Xtreme Gamer that supports EAX Advanced HD 5.0. Also when I enable Hardware Mixing, the game goes mute.
What's going on? Will T3 be able to use my expensive soundcard's special effects? :erm:

My suggestion is to make sure your Creative drivers are up-to-date.
To be honest, this is one of the things that really pissed me off about Thief 3. Here I am, with an SB Live! that still sounds terrific in games like Thief 1/2, Halo and Unreal based games. They deliberately crippled 3D sound support for us users of older hardware to try and get us to buy new cards.
This would be no different from NVIDIA influencing a game's development so that you either play it with the latest Geforce, or you play in 256-color software rendering. "We aren't going to take advantage of the features your hardware currently has. Either you shell out for the latest thing or you get no hardware acceleration, period."
I happen to know that the Unreal engine has some effects possible in software, like reverberation, Dolby Surround, and low latency on even generic sound cards.
