First off, many thanks to this site for the amount of help provided in making ss2 run on my p3 700. It took no less than 10 hours of constant reconfiguring and reinstalling, and no small amount of crashes. Anyway, after having played through a few times, I went back and found out there was an Easter Egg I wasn't aware of. Specifically, if you get the basketball from the training center street area, and make a basket on the rec dec (5), you are supposed to receive a strange email. Well as I did not want to start a new game to do so, I used a cheat to summon a bunch of balls on deck 5 and proceeded to start shooting hoops, to no success. So my question is this:
Has the basketball Easter Egg either been removed from the latest version of ss2, or possibly not playable if using cheat codes to summon the basketball? Again, my thanks for all the help this forum has provided.
P.S. go on youtube to check out the completed Egg I'm referring to.

It's very likely that it requires that specific basketball to work.

It does indeed need to be that specific basketball - the "magic ball" - no other one will work.

haha, you were right. I just raced through decks 1-5 and after 3 tries I got the basket.

FWIW, never did mange to make a traditional basket from either the game floor or from the deck above, however...many tries later from the upper deck, DID finally manage to bounce the ball from the floor thru the bottom of the hoop (a reverse one-bounce basket if you will) & that also triggered the message.
(How many other "reverse" puzzle solutions are scattered throughout the game?)

I'm sure it's a kind of bounds trigger, so the key is just that the ball gets into the space inside the hoop, one way or another, and that triggers it. A reverse shot is as good as anything. :cool:

Thats the same way I do it excet on the opposite side. I have also made the reverse shot, by accident of course when I missed from the side..lol
