Early Morrowind Screenshots... - by RyushiBlade

Well, the board's getting a bit quiet, so I decided to post some of these early Morrowind screenshots.
"What!" I hear you cry. "Morrowind is outdated! I want Oblivion information and I want it NOW."
Chances are, you're going to get Oblivion information before me. Anyway. These old Morrowind screenshots are interesting. Incase you never followed the release of Morrowind, like me, you may be surprised at what you see. For example:
(

are wearing robes. Pretty fancy ones too. I wonder why they took them out...
(

(

This interior, as well as the Vivec shots above, show that Morrowind used to have a lot more color. I'm sad they made the final release of Morrowind so earthy and dark in color.
If, by chance, you find any more interesting shots of Morrowind before its final build, feel free to provide a link.

Same reason they took the dynamic shadows out of OB I guess. :erg:

Too much of a resources hog?

The UI in those shots is hideous. I'm glad they changed it before the release.

Looks like the little boats in Vivec actually carried you from A to B, rather than just being a teleporter.

I actually liked some of the inventory setup. It was more that I liked the character having a real background behind it, I think, than just plain... black. But yes, I agree that everything else looked about as pretty as the wench I woke up with after a night of drinking.
(i.e., not very.)

Nice pictures.
I never saw them before and I must say I prefer the way it looks and the colors than Morrowind. The world looks simply more alive, the deadness of the surroundings was the fatal flaw of TES3 in my opinion.

Quite a few of those early pictures were actually "concept shots" and were actually done in 3D Studio Max as a sort of indication as to what the game would look like.

Wow, theres one in there with an ordinator wearing actaully golden armour like it is supposed to be. Now I see why they made it yellow instead.
