I won't give you names but a certain moderator of the German Eidos forums has been asked by SE to suggest hardcore Thief fans (himself possibly included) for a special programme during the GamesCom convention later this month. I wanted to give you a chance to start doubting his capabilities as a TruThief fan, lest you be caught by surprise should he say anything positive about the game afterwards.

Who?

The doubters and naysayers obviously. :p

Won't be a well-rounded review unless you have one from each court. If SE is chosen, then someone like Vae, New Horizon, or Esme should be chosen to balance things out.

SE = Square Enix.
Anyway - I guess doubters and naysayers includes me so, err, thanks - I'll keep it in mind. Even though I don't and never will give a damn about anyone's fan 'credentials'.

Thanks for the consideration, but no thanks.

First off, I think you misread. SE is Square Enix in Beleg's post.
Second of all - you know me by now. Do you really think I wouldn't be critical of stupid stuff they do? All I've done is been the voice of patience and reason and a side effect of that is I find people freaking out over small things, especially unconfirmed or rumoured things, utterly idiotic. More so if it's one of the unsubstantiated jumps to conclusion that many fans have made.
I don't like so much about the news we've been given. I'm not an angry internet man OMG HIS EYE IS NOT MECHANICAL ANYMORE THIS GAME WILL RUIN EVERYTHING EVEEEEERRRYYTHIUIIIIING

Break out the violins. Poor suffering Subjeff. Oh but wait...
OMG THEY'VE CHANGED ROPE ARROWS THIS GAME IS NOW RUBBISH!!!!
Remind you of anyone?
Anyways, I'm with Dia - a range of views is helpful.

Is that what I did? Really?

Sorry for the gaff - 'SE' means SubjEff to me, not Squeenix. And yes SE, I know you, but sometimes think you're objective to the point of pain; though I am impressed lately at how your inexorable logic seems to have nearly reversed your original and somewhat overly-positive (imo) opinions of T4. I figure if there was a balance of more objective/less objective Taffers who had the opportunity to play the demo that the truth about whether T4 is looking to be a good/bad game would probably lie somewhere in the middle. If that makes any sense. I'd be a seriously bad choice because I probably wouldn't even get as far as being allowed to touch the keyboard to begin playing said demo; I'd quickly be evicted from the premises for abusing EM T4 devs and PR people with harsh language and sarcasm. There'd probably be a general gnashing of teeth and foot stomping involved as well.
