I noted the difficulty curve for it, which is indeed weird, but the rest of the platforming worked fine for me. Sure, there's niggles - Ori tends to be a small part of all the level real estate, which means it's hard to notice a wayward spike in the way until you run into it, but it had a good amount of variety in its ideas at regular points that made up for this. If there was a 2D platformer that did platforming better outside of Nintendo in 2015, I'm unaware of it.

The news that BG&E2 is going to be some sort of persistent multiplayer-flavoured experience makes me incredibly irate, and no amount of sweary monkey is going to fix that.
Anyway, Spiderman and God of War look like legitimate things to add to the 'things to play when I get a PS4' list. They look like near Hollywood-level animated movies playing in real-time at this point. Also, another version of Shadow of the Colossus? The revamp looks very pretty, but it's still the same game we've likely played twice over by now.

Eh. If there's one game that deserves a complete remake, it's Shadow of the Colossus. It really did come out a couple generations too soon.

It was pretty much perfect in the PS3 remaster. I'd argue if you wanted a remake to stand with the titles of this generation, they haven't gone far enough with the visuals then, since it's basically new lighting, higher resolution textures, and embellishments.
What needs to happen is preservation of PS3 games like Abysmal said. Now that the PS3 has stopped production, I don't want ZoE 2 HD, Okami HD, Ni No Kuni, and many others sinking back into the darkness of the dead past. Especially Hexadrive's Okami remaster: a game like that disappearing again wouldn't be fair at all.

If there's one franchise I'd be content with if they just iterated on the previous version and made it better, it's The Crew. Weak vehicle handling, silly storyline, and too much gamey bullshit kept the original from being the crosscountry roadtrip game of my dreams. I'd love it if the sequel just fleshed out the world and improved the handling. That said, I'm not mad that they're also adding crazy Inception-shit and the ability to transform your car into a boat or a plane on the spot. I just hope they're not forgetting what matters most, that it feels good to play. NY is looking very impressive in the demo video as well, hope they can keep up that level of detail for all the game's cities. Hype level: moderate.

To be honest, the Shadow of the Colossus remake is the only E3 announcement to date that has got me excited, although to be fair I've not read a lot of coverage or watched all that many videos yet. I've played SotC twice, on PS2 and PS3, and it's one of my all-time favourite games. It's not exactly the same situation as Criterion announcing a Blu-ray release of Tarkovsky's Stalker, but it feels the same to me.

I'm gonna be a hypocrite and say that, barring ridiculous bullshit like Bluepoint making it a happy story or something, I'm still gonna get that remaster when I get a PS4. It's not like my SotC HD Blu-Ray's usable at this point without a PS3. Of course, we'll be back at the same crossroads when the PS5 comes out and PS4 production halts, but long-form manoeuvring is for people who play chess. :erg:

The what now? Don't tell me they just took a yet another Ubisoft open world game and slapped the title BG&E2 on it?
