Yes once again it's E3, also known as GAMER EYEBALL CHRISTMAS because it's like Christmas for your eyeballs GET IT????? T'is the season when tons of new gameplay videos and trailers show up for us to marvel at. I guess it actually starts next week or something but the first new trailers and announcement-announcements are already trickling in.

This is going to be one of the weirder E3s. All of the major publishing players have pulled out of the expo proper, because E3 is actually all about jockeying for retail space and the only people who give a shit about retail any more are the console manufacturers. They're doing their conferences the week of, but don't have booths, which is going to force the games journo types to run around to a bunch of different locations for interviews and whatnot, and then since the big publishers are actually doing open to the public demo events it's going to be a total shitshow on their various show floors.

These are the things I'm most curious about:
- The Last Guardian
- The planned Rock Band expansion and new hardware (I'm still a believer in RB4, even if it well nigh killed MadCatz)
- PS VR
- PS 4k (or whatever it'll be called) - not that I'd want to buy one immediately, but I'm curious as to what it'll mean for the regular PS4
... and that's pretty much it. To be honest, I don't know what big PC reveals are expected.

Bit with Fafhrd, I really couldn't give a crap. Ever since I started attending them, I'm more excited for smaller stuff like PAX South or GDC (tho that one kinda blew up too).
E3 IS a time to get excited as many devs save their big announcements for it, but as an event itself it's eh.
