I just don't understand this. As soon as I start the game, at the very begining, my red bar goes down like mad, I'm constantly dying of hunger. I did trade my jacket for food, bandages, med kit, energy drink i tried them all but I'm still dying, what da.... ? Please help

I read somewhere about it, something about incorrect passing of time. Have you patched the game and have you any mod installed?

The original (unpatched) version of STALKER had something like a time-speedup macro hard-coded to some key.
If you happened to config your keys and use it for something, it does what you configed AND the speedup macro.
It hit me as I used that key for my Crouch key. Was very disturbing to die in a minute or so!
I think it may have been " * " or maybe " / " or " \ ".
In any case, whichever key it is, you can press it again to get time back to normal.
Also I am pretty sure the first patch fixed it (removed the macro hardcoding).

the 1.0005 update solved the problem, but I'm dealing with another one. I'm constantly dying from radiation now :)))) this is ridiculous.
You are probably right about the key settings, cause I'm using the numpad for everything.

Wow, that is unfortunate, you've managed to hit both the superfast starvation and the constant irradiation bug. I've had it once before and it's a right pain in the arse. I fixed it by modding the armour file to make certain armours ridiculously rad resistant. Hardly a good workaround but it got the job done. You might want to try looking into mods to see if there's any that will fix this, I know there are some bug-fixing mods about, see if this is covered by any of them.

Remove radioactive artifact from your belt, or compensate it :)
