Pshaw... The metric system is unrealistic!

I read an interesting thing recently that explained that the reason the US doesn't use the metric system is that a ship carrying metric standards to the US in the 18th century was captured by pirates, and the copper cylinder that weighed "exactly" a kilogram and the rod that was "precisely" a meter long never made it to their shores.
YAAARRR!

You wouldn't steal a copper cylinder.
You wouldn't steal a one-metre rod.
Piracy. It's a crime.

You wouldn't download a frigate.

Hey, I've downloaded cars, so why not a frigate?
On a more Dying Light 2 note, though: all the praise for the game's environments and traversal gameplay have resulted in me getting *this* close to buying the game - but since people here have been talking a lot about Sekiro, which I bought but haven't played yet, I think I'll want to play that one first before getting Zombie Parkour Episode 2. But it is tempting...

Even Star Citizen turns its nose up at NFT's, lol.

I'm 30 hours in now, just got the grappling hook. I dunno, this thing is kinda starting to drag. Not sure how far inte the story I am, but I'd guess 2/3 of the way. Elden Ring is looking kinda tempting, might have to put DL2 on hold.

I'm at about the 25 hour mark, and I do like the game, and am having a lot of fun with it. It does have some issues though, and it doesn't have quite the impact on me as the first one did.
A few notes:
-It's way easier that the first one. I think I've only died maybe twice so far. The AI just doesn't seems as tough or scary as some of the stuff in DL1.
-Day/Night cycle - Disappointing. The first game was genuinely frightening when the sun went down, and now it's not a big deal at all, and very easy to move around during the night. I kind of get it though, they want to use both sides of the clock and have you run missions in both. But the urgency to get to a safe house by nightfall is gone, and I kind of miss that.
-The story and dialogue are really awful. I'm usually fairly tolerant on this, but I'm just skipping almost all of the talking parts now because it's so boring and goes on forever. Just got to the 2nd big city portion, and things may be improving, but we'll see.
-Visuals are kind of a mixed bag. Everything looks good, but overall it seems like they went for a more cartoony style. I guess I'm getting used to it. The violence and gore was a bit more hardcore in DL1, that's definitely been toned down.
-Exploration and traveling around the gameworld are great. This is basically what I keep playing for. They really made an interesting world that's super fun to navigate. And it's huge. Climbing and paragliding with huge skyscrapers, definitely a good mix.
-Combat is good, lots of cool moves to learn (although they are different than what's in DL1). I'd say this part is on par with the first game.
I guess overall they kind of homogenized things a bit, and "Far Cryed" the game a little. I suppose that's fine, I love the FC games, but some of the stuff that made DL1 really cool are gone. I still see putting a lot of time into this one, and I'm interested to see how they support it with DLC and other things over the next couple of years.

Yup, I agree with pretty much all of that! Playing on Medium and yeah it's pretty easy. The day/night cycle does mean streets are safer in the day and interors safer at night, giving you different areas to explore, so that's kinda interesting I thought.
