Well I suppose we better give this thing its own thread before it takes up too much of every other active thread in Gen Gaming.

Started playing it on PS5 tonight. The opening tutorial/story set-up section was exactly 2 hours and 16 minutes long before it just let me loose in the open world but now that I've gotten there it's too late and I'm TOO SLEEPY to play any more!
Combat and parkouring feels good. The story is decently engaging even tho the characters aren't, and the player character is kinda a dummy. What else? Uhhhhh... it looks good, big ol' skill trees, bit o stealth here and there... y'know, it's what you'd expect.

I'll copy-paste what I said in the other thread

It's good enough so far, but VERY gamey, including the baffling decision to have the main healing item require 1 honey and 2 chamomile to craft, then just clustering bee's nests and chamomile everywhere, which to me is just medkits with extra steps. Parkour is good, if a bit floaty and easy to over / undershoot. Fighting seems solid, lots of conspicuous exposition like strategically placed photos, and a slew of butler and maid dialogue. Could be good, but I'll need more time with it

Penny Arcade's Tycho isn't having much luck with it:

I was excited to progress in this cool city I'd gotten to, I clicked on the game, and then I started thinking about something else. I thought about shit for a while, and then I thought, you know what, I should progress in that cool city I'd gotten to. But then, I was like... wait! I was already going to do that! I
did already do that. It crashed to desktop without first going to the game, which to my mind reflects the dizzy heights of pragmatism, a laudable insistence on efficiency. I ran it again, this time entering the sacred realm of the software itself, only to have it crash after I hit Continue.

*quietly sidles back in after a long time*
The Skill Up guy said some complimentary things about the parkour elements while finding the story and characters to be a bit flat.

Thinking it's something I'd like to try at some point but not at full price before remaining issues get fixed (this is skill up's advice anyway).

Yeah the characters and writing are pretty weak, and the leveling up is also a bit too slow. C'mon game, I know you got a bunch of cool SKILLS, just give them to me already! I WANNA HAVE SKILLS!

I'm starting to find the game a bit boring if I'm honest.
Just no real motivation to play.
Shame.

Played the first part for some hours. Completely boring Assassins Creed/Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor style gameplay.
No idea where the fun is supposed to be to shred through hordes of always re-spawning enemies. Soulless games these days.
Found Dead Island by the same developer way better, by the way. Albeit still a bit generic. IMO, such games could be way more interesting, if done right.

Oh, I've been enjoying it actually. While the story ain't setting my world on fire, the main drive to keep playing comes from wanting to unlock new moves. The parkour and combat gameplay is fun and getting new moves to add to the mix is neat. I've reached the second area and gotten the hangglider, which is fun but honestly also kinda overpowered. I actually wish the game had made me explore some of these insanely high skyscrapers without it first, coz it kinda removes any danger from being so high up.

Ah, yes. Endless hordes of re-spawning
damage sponge enemies. XD

I'll get the game eventually, but right now I think I'll mainly get it for the environment and the parkour. It sounds like Dying Light 2 gets those two things right, at least once you've unlocked the main parkour upgrades.
