DXM.com and SS2.com closing, and CitadelStation.com opening in their place - by Digital Nightfall

I want to know the people's opinion on this. I also want to know if the people think that any of it will be worth the effort. The poll itself tells you all you need to know. Vote, and please, share your thoughts. :)

Open CS.com with the two current sites archived in their entirety.
Eberon on 27/12/2002 at 17:34
Archive and move into the new pad, I say! I love DXM as it is (mostly), but I think it can be much greater with some kind of major change. This is probably its best shot =)

I agree as well. We need to move forward (but keeping the old stuff as a lasting memory). :)

As the first non-Moderator to reply, I concur. :)

Making the new site but keeping the old sites archived sounds like a good idea.

I also agree with the "new site but keeping the old ones archived" idea. I'd imagine it'd kinda be like the StygianAbyss.com...I think...

I agree with them!

Don't really like any of those options, but can't think of a better one.
Is there some need to do any of this?
DXM obviously needs to stay open in some form for DX2. Well, I assume it can keep itself 'alive' thanks to that future.
SShock2 is a weird one since there's nothing on the horizon and the fan mod scene hasn't really taken off (the game design and story doesn't really lend itself to that). If it is stagnating then just stop updating it and perhaps pare it back to an archive of news and media (which isn't much of a paring since that's really what it is, with the odd new bit of art and fiction).
So in other words; I don't know.
I just don't like the idea of grouping these things together. What does deus ex have to do with Citadel Station and SS? Not much. I think this sort of thing only needs to be done if absolutely necessary. Otherwise just trim any dead wood and turn it into furniture, leaving the rest to take its course.

Hrm... For some reason I don't like the idea of lumping both games together into one site, though I can see the advantages in doing so. Keep in mind though that the site is going to be pretty much entirely dominated by Deus Ex news, especially when Deus Ex 2 is released.
Dave, Fatteh and Eberon are the guys who have worked their asses off to keep those sites going and they all seem happy with the idea, so that's good enough for me.
