It would be better if I could kill every major designer and writer. :eww:

Another tip, try not to play through it in stealth mode, it usually drags out the experience O.o

Lol, that has to be one of the more entertaining rants I've heard about IW in a while - especially because it mirrors my experience almost exactly (except for that gay guy, don't remember him at all). Anyway, in answer to your questions:
1) Yes, the plot does become more coherent a little over half-way through the game. Also, as a reviewer pointed out, it's only about then that the game actually starts feeling like a "Deus Ex" game. What I don't understand is why the writers had to spend such an annoyingly long time dithering around beforehand. :erg:
2) That sort of stuff either tapers off somewhat or you just start to get used to it after awhile. Either way the achingly stupid design choice of taking the last-minute desperation of the main characters in regard to your choices from the end of the first game and stretching that sort of response through the entire game eventually didn't bother me as much.
3) No, but some of the later levels do a better job of disguising that annoyance.
4) No, not really. There are few more unique models for main characters later on, but all other NPCs pretty much look as they do now.
5)You find out some more (slightly) interesting info about Alex D., but he continues to be about as wooden throughout. It amazes me that after making one of the more wooden player characters in video games, Ion Storm was able to turn around and make one for the sequel with less than half the charisma. :laff:
Despite all the crap, I would suggest you push on through. The story gets a bit better (almost reaching DX quality in parts IMO) and there are some fun sections. Just try to put your disappointment to the back of your mind as much as possible.

Yeah, the only saving grace I could possibly offer you is the fact that you can kill almost every major character.
Cuz you know, a design move like that is super fucking subversive.

it's a good text and pretty much repeats my own impression about IW, which is to my mind a great game

Finishing DX:IW is even less rewarding than finishing Prool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. Such questionable achievements are useful only as a measure of one's masochistic tendencies.

Oh hell no. There are few things worse than the Ruins of Myth Drannor.

I'm not criticising you for starting that thread but I''ve merged it with fett's thread as they're pretty much discussing the same thing!

Most likely (

I'd be more annoyed if I didn't consider it actually more embarassing to whoever changed it.

Indeed, pure fail.
