I hope Thief 4 is all 3rd person!
Yakoob on 21/2/2011 at 23:56
Frankly, I don't think 3rd person is enough. Can we have a camera that actually looks at the camera that looks at the character? It's like, you're making your own blockbuster movie :D

Sounds like an interesting gameplay idea. Mind control via CCTV! (Try not to accidentally send your character out a window when he goes offscreen.)

If that means extra polish
We live in times where polish = dumbing down

Okay, this isn't worth it's own thread so I'm just gonna resurrect this one since it's got a reasonably appropriate title for it - RPS (
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/14/deus-ex-hacking/) have linked up a short cam from PAX featuring some screwing around with a security console and a trash bin.
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rnDEH0CmW_c?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rnDEH0CmW_c?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="349"></embed></object>
Commenting on the video Alec Meer said he thought he remembered an option to turn off usable objects highlighting, and I do hope he's right about that. I understand that the yellow outlines are supposed to be in tone with the general art style but I find it all rather jarring and unpleasant. I was gonna make a crack at part of the, ahem, intended audience along the lines of "hurr how do i use craet" but then I remembered that, technically, the original DX also had usable object highlighting too. Only for objects under your cursor, quite a big difference in my eyes, but still I guess I'll just have to wait for other opportunities to be a douchebag and leave this one be.
But seriously, Eidos? Guys? Dudes? On/Off toggle for the highlights please, this is an easy bullet to dodge.

Hm yeah I don't mind the glow, but it looks like it activates way too far from the crosshairs.

Let's hope this marks the glorious return of (
