Graphics Card: ATI RAGE PRO AGP 2X (Apparently incompatible with Direct3D mode )

ATI isn't exactly famous for it's drivers. If upgrading your drivers doesn't work, you might actually want to downgrade them i.e. install some older ones.
Also, you might want to consider turning off AGP acceleration via DirectX Diagnostic. Run "dxdiag" and try that. Failing that, fiddle around a bit with the graphics acceleration setting (no lower than the "Basic" setting, please :) ).

And while I have trouble believing your card could possibly be unable to run in Direct3D, if that's your suspicion, well, you're in denial. :erg:

Reminds me of Stalin in the 30's: He killed the guy that correctly predicted the German invasion, simply because he liked the other guy's prediction better.

wanna a cheap 'o solution? take five $ bucks and buy a second hand voodoo2 add-on accelerator card.plug it to your pci slot, connect it to your ati rage with the pass-through cable (should be included with the card),load the drivers and boom, you are playing in glide with no errors and twice the speed ;)
pros: cheap solution, works in any system with any os,no need to remove your current graphics card, adds compatibility with all glide games, deus ex (and all other UT based games),will run fast and with no errors.
cons: ...if you know some post here :ebil:

He is in 2000, which has very few, if any, actual 3DFX drivers.
voodoo47 on 18/11/2004 at 17:35
..there are plenty of good drivers for xp and 2000,using one right now,no problems

Question is, is it official 3DFX, though? Tis the reason why my old Voodoo 3 1000 still has the default XP drivers installed.

Pah, you're useless. Go away and let someone else offer a less money-intensive solution.
Okay then, a GeForce 1. Or heck, a TNT. Could probably dig one of those out a dumpster. The point is, pretty much anything is better than what you have now. A measly 10 pounds could get you a card that's twice as good. And it wouldn't just fix your DX problem, it would make
all your games run better.

The Rage was bad when it came out, and still bad today. Seriously, take our advice: Get a new video card. Using a ATI Rage card now is basically the equivilent of the speed of a Model T to a F-15.

nope.its 3rdpary stuff, works much better than the original ones (faster, more settings you can tweak).it actually runs hitman contracts,so its gotta be a quality stuff :thumb:
oh,and voodoo2 will outperform any card older than geforce in deus ex,tnt or tnt2 doesnt stand a chance.and remember the prices are like 2-5 $..or even free,if you have friend with one he doesnt need anymore.
