So I was inspired by the halflife speed run that I saw a while back, wherein which the entire game of halflife was completed in under 1 hour. I have just returned from my first completion of DX in as short an amount of time as I could muster. Total game time: 3hour 44minutes. This process needs to be refined, but I'd say for my first try that's more or less appropriate.
Things I have learned:
1.) Master rifles as quickly as possibly, a mastered sniper rifle is capable of taking out cameras and turrets, the value of which I had forgotten until vandenburg.
2.) Such a speedy feat is not possible without use of the ingame multitool and lockpick cheats, and two areas required me to have access to outside codes. Those being the mj12 base and getting into the aquinas hub.
3.) most important augs: speed (obvious), regen, synth heart (I bypassed many aug upgrades, so I used synth heart for the final level on many of the augs used).
4.) Save jumping proved rather useful, especially in getting out of m chow's apparment, and getting down the large elevater shaft in the a51 bunker
5.) Normally I hate using the assault rifle because the amount of ammo it consumes versus the amount of damage it deals is insubstantial, but once rifles is at lvl3 then the assault rifle becomes inordinately useful because most of the time you don't have the oppurtunity to sit and aim your stupid pistol.
6.) the tranq was not as useful as I first assumed it might have been, I think I only ever used it against two guards in vandeburg
7.) it's almost scary how many areas which I've spent hours individually on in the past can by overcome in a matter of minutes if you're just trying to get through them
There's probably more, but for the time being I'm just sort of reflecting on the whole thing. Any thoughts on what I could do to speed it up would be helpful.

Nicely Done.
Though it's a bit different to do a speed run in Deus Ex than in HalfLife, that is a pipe3rdpersonshooter.
But yes, maybe I'll try this someday too.
...but.. for now on, IT's MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE! :)
