What was your point? That nobody was willing to shell out $30? Because I had totally planned on doing so. That I don't have to is great news, but I would've done it.

TBH I was prepared to shell out more than $30 to get a fully integrated version with the boss stuff revamped. Then again I've probably bought all of the Thief games at least 4 times at this point, so YMMV.
And for wishlisting purposes, it's finally listed on Steam now: (

What I don't understand is why they couldnt implement the smartglass feature into windows as a windowed screen, so anyone with two monitors could take advantage of it.

No, the point was that it wasn't
worth $30. There's are always fools willing to part with their hard earned. I think the price point indicates that beyond the already released DLC, there really isn't much new content here, at least for the PC version.

The graphics have been updated, the DLC has been integrated seamlessly, and the boss fights were redesigned. That's enough content for me.

Oh don't tell me you don't have
at least two copies of Thief, both of which are
the same game. Hell, I have three! Each!
This at least is an update.

I've bought so many copies of Thief I can barely keep track. Thief, Thief Gold, Thief II, replacement for Thief II when one of the disks cracked, Thief Deadly Shadows, Thief Gold/Thief II Mastertronix set to replace broken CD's again, Thief/Thief II/Thief Deadly Shadows on Steam, and I'm probably going to order another copy of Thief Not-Gold because I can't find my original CD's anywhere.

I'd agree. I'd say that the lowered price for current owners is an acknowledgement of this, bearing in mind that their shareholders wouldn't be too happy if they dropped the price thinking that most current owners would stump up the $30.

I'm still not sure "revamped bossfights" will feel like anything other than bossfights.
I'm assuming they're still going to be more or less "enter this arena here", even if you can then "hack this console to win the fight" or whatever. It's the arena bit that bugs me more than anything else. Well, that and the wholly lacking characterisation.
DX bossfights, in the sense that there were any real bossfights, were far less defined. Simons (on either occasion) you could just run past entirely. Ditto gunther. Anna was the only real "you must kill this boss/coworker to progress" fight, and even then she was stopping progress by actually standing in the way of an exit they'd previously nicely established as the only exit to UNATCO HQ. She wasn't sitting in an arena, she was just in the lobby of your own office. (plus you might've already killed her on the 747 anyway)

I agree, and I'll add that you knew the characters you were fighting in DX. Before you ever got into a boss fight in DX, you had ample opportunity to interact with the bosses and develop feelings about them whether animosity, pity, or even sympathy. They were deeper characters. You hardly knew anything about the bosses in HR, especially the first two which appeared for all of a couple seconds in one cutscene before you fight them.
But it will still be interesting to take on the HR bosses in a different way.
