Who else sees how Deus Ex could eventually fit into the System Shock Universe?
Deus Ex is just the prequel :D
discuss.

how did you arrive at that conclusion? theyre both futuristic 3d games?

You realize that DXIW and System Shock both take place in 2072 (I know I will end up being corrected if that year is wrong for SS, but it's in the 2070's)? In DXIW there is no Trioptimum and no Citadel and a bunch of various other things which are standard in SS1 which are non-existant in DXIW.
Discussed.

I'd certainly hope DX:IW doesn't turn into SS1. :erm:

Yeah in ss1 you can lean.
heh, I know I know cheap shot. Though seriously thats ridiculous. The games series have completely different plot structure. SS is scary slowly building plot through non interactive characters(data logs). Where as IW tries to beguile you at every step but you can still figure out just whats going to happen due to the way they went about it.
SS - Tells you what the heck is going on through natural progression and don't die.
IW - Half baked conspiracies at every turn and well your character has so much choice that you might choose that the game is boring and have your character set up a burger stand or something in new Ciro. Really these people need some good food nobody should eat out at a coffee shop.

True... not yet at least... just a matter of time, really.
Just because they don't exist now doesn't mean they don't exist

Pah! Infidel!
I'm not saying it's going on at the same time, but I could see the world growing into a more system shock future.
Heh, they'd have to split up all the ammo into different guns again.

Well, at least that makes for ample time to develop unified ammo and knife disabling weapon codes for bars.
