Yes, only now am I playing the first Deus Ex. Anyway, I'm currently in Paris, and I don't seem to be getting any new images. I have the map of the catacombs, but when I left the sewers I didn't get a map from those pda things where people usually leave their passwords. Nor did I get the map of the chateau that should have been sent to me via my head.
I'm using a modified version of the executable. I don't know if it's one of those things we're not supposed to talk about, so I'll just say it's the first result when searching Google for 'Deus Ex on modern systems'.
It seems to be impossible to search for info on this bug because words like 'image' and 'bug' are hardly specific, so any help would be appreciated.

If I remember right, you didn't necessarily get complete maps of each new area. I certainly don't remember many new maps after I left America... maybe a few here and there, but not like the first few missions.
Are people telling you they're sending images which aren't appearing?

Yes. There have been two incidences. The first was when I left the sewers onto the streets. There is a little hut with a computer that turns off the robots, and a little handheld thing which says it has a map of the streets. I got the message to check my datavault but no new image. The same thing happened later on when someone sent me a PM giving me a map of the chateau. After the first time I just assumed it was a random glitch, but the second occurrence made me think this might keep happening.
Edit: Actually I think I just misunderstood the messages. The first one copies the text to my 'notes' section. Even though it mentions a map I think it's just a hint to use the back streets. In the second one the messenger said he was pulling up a floor plan, but not showing it to me. After continuing on to the next level, a new map has appeared.

There are maps for all those areas that should appear in your datavault. Its probably your executible...modified is a no no.:thumb:

But it makes the game look so much better, and sorts out some horrible clipping issues. And since continuing the game I've received all images that were promised.
If you don't mind, please complete the following sentence (choose all answers that apply):
