I'm a mere 98 minutes into this, but already I'm falling for it's low-fi charm and systems-driven gameplay. It's a space exploration game that has you jumping from one derelict ship to the next, exploring them with your drones to find fuel and equipment so you can keep exploring further. Not entirely sure what the overarching plot is yet, if there is one, but the gameplay is good, with things unfolding because of emergent gameplay and the decisions you make.
Here's a video of me using mines for the first time, to blow up an enemy unit. I also inadvertently end up blowing up the nearby computer terminal and blocking the door from getting closed again because the enemy is still in the doorway when it's destroyed. Oops.

This is the kinda game you're gonna have to start over several times before you get to the end. I've already learned several harsh lessons in the little time I've spent with it, and the difficulty is steadily ramping up.

I love the idea of Duskers, but it also sounds like the kind of game I'd actually give up on after a while, since I prefer the idea to the actual thing. Like this I can enjoy the game vicariously through you. :cheeky:

5 hours in, I'm at the end of the road. When you're wondering whether to scrap the motion detector or the turret to repair the other, it's bad. I was listening to the Thumper soundtrack at the end. It was suitably apocalyptic for my situation.
Here's one of my final boardings.

I need to get back to this one. I got in a situation where none of my drones have the 'interface' add-on, and I haven't been able to find any scrapped ones with it, so I can explore maybe two rooms of any given ship before it gets too scary.

I got frustrated by numerous attempts where I would be without equipment or resources to repair my drones - it felt like I was being worn down very quickly each time I played. I feel I must be must be missing something so I need to give it another shot sometime.

Yeah I lost the Interface too, and a few missions later all my drones. Lasted 133 days on my first run. But I also feel like I learned a lot of valuable (if harsh) lessons. Hell, I lost 2 drones just trying to figure out how the turret works.

Like Thirith and Al_B I loved the idea of it but got frustrated by its punishing gameplay. I learned and got a bit further at every attempt, but then I had a look at some fan forums or wikis and realized this would just go on forever. There seems to be more ways to have my carefully tended to drones suddenly be removed than I care to learn and start again from scratch. And the gameplay while atmospheric was not enough to see me through it.
If I was 15, had more time than I knew what to do with and possessed only 3 games I'd probably be all over this, but none of that is true anymore.

The worst thing is the weird creeping red growth stuff that just comes out of nowhere and gradually fills up a room. Everything will be find and I'll be piloting a drone directly and suddenly one of my other drones is taking damage and is disabled before I can react.
The other thing, and this is a mechanic issue, is that you can't go back to ships. I'd left one of my drones on a ship, thinking I could leave, repair my other drones, and come back and get it, but you can't go back.
