"This is not an official guide. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any of the information contained herein."
Thus it
must ALL be utterly, utterly wrong.
Or, maybe, all the bits that don't agree with your position are wrong, and the rest is probably ok?
Jesus...I can only assume you read just that far, and gave up? So, say, the bits that say "anything in red is confirmed: see attached documentation" are also wrong?

Maybe so, but his point remains - I've certainly heard many people I trust saying the same, and I thought it was common knowledge.
The fact that the age of consent changes between countries is certainly true.

For anyone upset by this thread, please listen to Age of Consent by New Order.
It's brilliant and you'll forget about paedophiles for a few minutes!

If we ignore the infantile nature of Naartjie's remark, the implication is amazing.
Do people
refuse to believe that the age of consent is not some kind of international standard?

I don't have 'a position' as you rather strangely put it, but after OrbWeaver tried to back himself up with a smug little "Certainly" and then linked to a source which immediately admits that it can't be certain of its own accuracy, you must agree that he somewhat shot himself in the foot, no?
Colossal bellend count at two and rising.
Shevers on 25/5/2006 at 16:35
Not when it also says in BIG BOLD CAPITALS that the ages in red have been verified. That's not uncertain of it's own accuracy - quite the opposite.
Looks to me like you've just picked up on it not all being confirmed and picked a fight about nothing.

No. He didn't. You're the one being a twat.
It's a disclaimer.
It's there because they are dealing with issues that could land someone in jail, or at the least, a serious amount of trouble, and they don't want the responsibility if, god forbid, they've made a mistake, or the law changes, or something else happens, and the some guy says "But I relied on {x} website."
Saying "We don't guarantee {-------}" is far different from saying "Hey, we're just making shit up."

It's always struck me as somewhat Godwinesque that sooner or later in any thread regarding pedophilia and/or child abuse, there will be at least one person who trots out the old "YOU DON'T HAVE KIDS DO YOU"
Quote Posted by PigLick
yeh isnt most child abuse inflicted by the parent? SO by that logic, if you DO have kids you are more likely to be a child abuser or pedophile right? Oh shi
Actually, I thought the question was normally followed up by, "...because mine are pushing 13 and their delicate little plugholes are getting pretty shanked out, and I'm looking for a weekend loaner." Of course, I may be misinterpreting things.

Point taken, I was a little too careless when I read the original link. But you can't pull off calling me a twat, so don't do it in future.

Your twat is showing again, dear.
