Hey you're right...I posted that and it's gone! Why? It wasn't part of the argument.

Sorry! That was my mistake... :( Here's what the post said:

Originally posted by Jordana There's about three NPC's swimming in the Balmora river in my game, including one of the guards. I think they're having a pool party.
Along similar lines, there's a group of about five NPC's standing motionless under the bridge in Seyda Neen. Every time I go back there another one has joined them. -Striker

<Blockquote><B>The Daily Vivec:</B><Br />Ebonheart - Lord Vedam Dren issued a statement regarding ongoing plans to increase health awareness in Vvardenfell. "It's a real problem. Rampant lethargy is affecting all aspects of life in Vvardenfell. Monsters have free reign over the countryside and our economy's fate rests in the hands of one outlander. The populace must take control of their lives and stop just standing around. That's why we have taken initiative," said the duke.
The first part of the plan involved establishing the Vvardenfell Council of Physical Fitness (VCPF) to be headed by popular outlander actor Arnauld Swarzanagger. "I'm really excited about this program. This is going to take a lot of work and I'm the one to do it," said the actor and three-time winner of the Mr. Tamriel award.
A pilot program has been implemented with the Imperial Guard. They are ordered to encourage the populace to "move along" then advance to "keep moving." Arnauld coined these phrases himself. The actor is known for his memorable one-liners. Perhaps the most famous is "don't lose your head," from Ordinator and "I need a hand," from Ordinator 2. Despite Arnauld's signature phrases, the program has produced poor results so far. "The guardss keep irritating me all day," replied He-Who-Goes-On- Tirades, a resident of Ebonheart. "I'm minding my own businesss and walking about and a guard tells me to keep moving. Then another guard not two feet away tells me to move along. I am moving! What the [expletive removed] do they want from me," the frustrated Argonian rambled. "I will not move. It's my right. The Imperials do not respect our customs," replied another citizen.
"Moving a few feet around is not enough, and I've seen no record of the supposed 'rooting custom.' We want more mobility in our citizen's everyday lives. The plan is not perfect but it's a start," admits Mr. Swarzanagger. The VCPF is still doing studies regarding the problem of immobile citizens. For instance, ongoing studies are hinting at a large percentage of the indoor population suffering from agoraphobia while others are afflicted with atrophy from being immobile for long periods of time. "We're in negotiations with the Imperial Cult to get their help in researching and treating these conditions," replied Mr. Swarzanagger.
Temple officials initially failed to respond to our inquiries. After persistent questioning they responded ,"bribe failed, goodbye." However, an inside source reported that the Temple is currently conducting a separate investigation on the phenomenon and will release their findings in due time.
Despite populace inhibitions, the program is showing signs of hope. In Balmora, guards can increasingly be seen swimming in the river along side local residents. "It's great public relations," says Guard #431. "We're getting more and more citizens in the river each day. I'm feeling like they are starting to see us as people too." This trend is catching on in Vivec, Hila Ood and all along the Bitter Coast.
"People have their reservations but I'm sure this will catch on quick," replied Mr. Swarzanagger. The actor often dresses as an Imperial Guard to blend into the city and see the program results first hand. Mr. Swarzanagger's office is at 1200 Stilt Rider Lane, Ebonheart. "I'm very busy, I've got to keep moving," the bulking actor stated. "If anyone wants to participate in the program please come by my office. If I'm not there just wait, I'll be back."</Blockquote>

Interesting story you have there... but some of the NPCs are still brainless becuz the programs tell them what to do and say. The reason i posted this thread becuz need better AI and reactions. Still along way to go to make RPGs totally real.
And still those NPCs are ANDROIDS!!!! These bots are even worst than Cmdr. Data.
Myoldnamebroke on 18/7/2003 at 18:37
By posting this thread you hoped to improve their AI?
A world of the size and complexity of Morrowind would be almost impossible to program fully living AI for.
