I was just wondering why morrowwind never had any dual wielding, even with small weapons... any thoughts??

Time, budget, who knows? I doubt it was just one thing, there were proably a few reasons dual weapons were never implemented by Bethesda.

They have mods for this.
Can I dual weild a daedric battle axe and Lilacor? That'd be pure own.

Not as such no, the 'dual wield' mods simply create a sheild that LOOKS like a weapn, so it looks like your duel-weilding. It doesn't let you weild two of your favorite weapons together, or fight in a two handed style.
Back to the topic at hand, I don't think they implemented dual-weild because they never really considered it required. I mean, some games have dual weilding, but not all of them, the previous ES games didn't have dual weilding, so I don't think it's a huge question as to why they left it out.

I don't think it's even needed. It would make the game more unbalanced... Can you imagine weilding something like True Flame (that right?) and Hopesfire at once?

One way they could have worked it in would be to have a secondary attack button, but the offhand weapon would always have to be weakened somewhat. I also would have liked some sort of block button that isn't based on just a reflexive skill. It would make combat more interesting, as would the implementation of a kick button. But those would require a bit more in the way of controls, though not much more.

It's so easy to swap weapons in the middle of combat that its almost a moot point as to whether or not dual wield would have helped any. It certainly would have looked cool as hell, at least for us theives that don't do shields. I'll just wait for WoW for any dual weilding fantasies :thumb:
