...which is why I don't want to be a part of it.
Cant' say as I blame you. It's not exactly the nicest business to be in. I don't have any idea if "producers" affect the commercial production of death metal in the same way as pop/rock music. I doubt it. It seems to be about as collaborative as any style I can think of.
I just listened to all the stuff on the Misery Remains site. I see what you mean about the detail you're putting into the drum programming, and I know the time and effort that goes into that. Though, as you probably could have guessed, the style is not exactly my cup of tea (it's actually the death growl vocals I've never gotten used to), I can really appreciate and like the guitar work and sound very much.
You also seem to have a pretty healthy attitude.

There was never much money involved in my musical endeavors, unless you count me shelling it out for equipment, gas, and lame-assed sound men who coudn't mix a nursery rhyme.
Ha! I knew you were actually in the music business. You just described most peoples' experiences to a tee.
..."lame-assed sound men". Boy, the stories that could be told... :)

"Hiring" a band member is a foreign concept to me.
I shouldn't have said "hiring" players, but should have worded it "Would you want someone in your band who..."

Wow, thanks for taking the time to listen!
The drumming isn't even as detailed as I'd like it to be. The perils of using sound samples (especially of cymbals and the snare) and the artifacts that are created by fast repetition of the same sample (or even a different one with the same staff note), and the need to have tons of samples of the same drum at different levels of attack, influenced me to rule out a lot of subtle aspects I may have included otherwise.
I understand about the vocals, and that's where I am handicapped. I can't really sing, and I don't know what else would fit this aggressive style. I'm not really very good at the growling, either.

Thanks. I try to be realistic, though reality does tend to suck.
