Yeah, yeah - Portnoy and Peart and all those guys. Fantastic technically - I love 'em. But give me an Alan White or Ringo Starr who actually plays the damn SONG instead of masturbating all over it. Peart has done a lovely job of converting to this mentality the last 4 or 5 Rush albums, but prior to that, he was just busy and unmemorable (not to say he isn't brilliant from a technical standpoint).
Like, what the fuck is wrong with that guy from the Dave Matthews band? I CAN HEAR YOUR SNARE DRUM DIPSHIT - YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY IT 15 TIMES EVERY MEASURE.
