I want Deus Ex 2 to have more creative drug effects! I was really annoyed when I consumed a vial of Zyme and found out that it had just the same effect as drinking a case of booze! I want hallucinations! Weird colors! Maybe a few cound clips from the apparitions and haunts in Thief thrown in. That would be cool.

yeah.
i also read before, that intoxication with drugs would cause the y-axis to snap, resulting in reversed movement. things like that. or irrational movements. or jc suddenly starts to mutter, talk to himself - he could even sing (when he's drunk). how about that?

I thought that it was pathetic that 1 beer would have the affect that it did. If thats the case, then Denton really needs to get out more.

Damage too.
Lets have more effects of taking damage.
Twitch and loose aim. Knocked over. Stunned. Vision fades.
Strange effects on movement/perception, like mentioned above.

Twisty, read the manual. JC's nanites metabolise food VERY quickly; this is what give food and drink its healing affect. If you drink, the alcohol is metabolised slowly, over say an hour. If JC does, it is metabolised in seconds; so he gets the effect of the alcohol in a very short, intense burst.

but yeah, zyme was kind've a misnomer.
although we maybe could have a "rape" button.
kinda like in GTA3 when you get "energy" from the whores you do. there were tons
of whores in DX, and i always needed health. so the "rape" button was sorely missed.:thumb:

I'd actually like to see more uses for drugs...what is the use of zyme? And why can't I buy purple haze? What happened to the potheads? Or is zyme a conspiracy? - We all know where acid came from....

I never tried it out during the game, because for some reason i was sure i heard you could become addicted to it, which was why it appeared so often in the game ... :erm:
Maybe i've just been playing too much Fallout.
Although new stat-boosting drugs in the next game would be very cool. Maybe you could pick them up at the same place you get your black market augmentations.
And addictions to those drugs would be even cooler. :p
