The thing about the EG is that it's transparent, it's out in the open and everyone in the community has access to it. Discord seems private and exclusionary, but that might just be me. As far as posting here, the real issue is how to get new authors here and I wonder if there simply aren't many now. I'll give that some thought.

I don't think it's fair to compare every channel on discord to one forum at ttlg. The dromed channel at Discord has basically the same people who posted in the Editor's Guild, and nothing there has been rude or offensive. One benefit of Discord is that people with questions can get live help instead of waiting hours at EG, and posts appear as they are posted. I have been using Discord mostly for mission testing, but then it became a problem when some testers refused to use Discord. At that point it became one main group with several individual message streams in the TTLG PM...

Some channels at Discord aren't pleasant, but they're no different than the comm chat at TTLG. If you post a question here, it will still be answered. :)

There is a ton of productive and focused Dark engine and Dromed discussion on the Discord server, and I find it very welcoming to new authors, many of whom are active there. If you don't see it, you're not looking very hard. I would say that the vast majority of the posts over there are on subject, which is remarkably high, and you have direct contact with many members of the Dromeding community. We've worked to keep politics and shitposting out of there, and while there is certainly some off topic and meme posting, it's not even close to the level of toxicity as Comm Chat here at TTLG, or most other Discords I'm active on. Like Renault said, if you prefer here that's fine, just post here. But to expect the Discord server to just be shut down and drive everyone back to posting here like it's 2009 is frankly absurd.

Discord is beholden to its shareholders, business partners, and the average Discord user, not the miniscule FM community. Maybe they will take a hard-line stance against copyright infringement, or turn searching the archives into a paid feature. Maybe they will (accurately) decide NewDark fits under the umbrella of hacking, for which they have happily banned communities.
I don't mean to stop anyone using it, but these concerns should be on the table.
On the other hand, LLMs are DDOSing the world.

It's nice to have a live discussion about FM editing, and the feature for uploading screenshots and small-ish files is also very nice. On the other hand it can be hard to follow if several people are all posting their own questions, with each one getting answers at the same time.

My cred as a whizbang memester is well established thank you. I've seen memes you people wouldn't believe.

I miss when making missions was more about making missions, and not about social media.. which this place is slow to learn. Let's be honest.. the "Discord Server" is just a 4chan outlet. I would like to humbly ask the moderators here to resurrect the Editors Guild. A place where both potential authors, and those who are curious about what we do, to come back here. A transparent place where people don't meme all the time. We have a humble fire here. With good, tasty meat. And great, original stories.
Do you have any examples of what you describe as "4chan outlet"? I'm genuinely curious, because that's not what this server is about nor should it be.
It's true that the server has a fair share of shitposting and its own vernacular, but from what I see it doesn't last very long and wouldn't have been out of place back in IRC days (and imo it's far mellower). Still, I'm curious, since that's something that can potentially be remedied.
