On my quest to find out how to get a deadric dai-katana I've been informed by a number of people that they only found there's after killing a Dremora Lord summoned at a shrine after you take the offerings.
Now working on that info I've found my self a deadric shrine in the under works of the St. D canton in vivec (it has a statue of a guy with a walking stick). I've been repeatedly loading up just before I 'summon' the dremora lord to see whether his random weapon is daedric or not...
Suffice to say all I've had after 30 loads or so is dwarven weapons and dreugh clubs etc.
Was I misinformed?
Am I just unlucky?

It depends on your level. I get jumped by deadra with deadric daggers or ebony weapons all the time

Once I got beyond about level 36 every other dremora lord has a Dai-Katana it seems

There are two others that I know about that don't come from Dremora.
[SPOILER]The first is from the current head of House Redoran - someone Venim (he's in the Venim Manor under-Skar in Ald Ruhn). The second, is in the Guide Book - "from the remains of a dead warrior in the Maesa-Shammus Egg Mine." I've never gotten this particular one so I don't have any clue where Maesa-Shammus is or where in the mine the dead warrior is.[/SPOILER]

aye, due to the coding in MW, certain monsters will spawn at daedric shrines at certain levels, while others blah blah
IE: at level one a daedric shrine will be full of scamps and other crappy monsters.
At level 100, it'll be full of frost atronarchs, twighlight hoes, and tougher guys(this is outside)
There's 'Dremora' and 'Dremora Lords', the latter being tougher and spawning later.
Dremora Lords carry daedric weapons more often.

Worth noting when you pick up the "trigger items" that are sat on and around the plate on the altar (usually a daedra heart, but not always) it always spawns a Dremora lord, no matter the level

That'd be me :o Sorry didn't know it's dependent on level. However, if it's any consolation, I reloadd quite a number of times before I found what I was looking for. Can't remember my level though.

Go to Ald Sotha (east of vivec). I'm was only around 20th level when I got my first Dai-Katana there. It's the largest deadric dungeon I know off ... and Dremora lords seemed to respawn at the drop of a hat. Good chances of finding a Daedric Dai-katana if your going to find one anywhere.
