what good is a drain attribute potion? is it only good to sell or does it drain it from your opponent? i just dont see the use in it

Hrm.. I suppose a potion to drain endurance (or whatever attribute is related to resisting disease) might help you to catch vampirism...

Isn't it willpower? I know thats resistance to magik, but does it also apply to poisons and disease?

Good point; poison (really a spell), and disease are both in the 'spellcraft' section of the Editor.

Is their actually any ingrediants which lower your 'disease resistence' or is it a simple case of a 'drain will power potion' / 'weakness to magic potion'?

Since there is a seperate Weakness to Common Disease spell, I'd guess that while diseases are a kind of spells they follow special rules. Also there is only one ingredient with Weakness to x (poison - Weakness to Poison).
Just found this interesting variable in the editor : fDiseaseXferChance 2.5
I believe that the game first checks to see if the disease is transfered and then checks for resistance but I'm unsure whether Willpower or Endurance has an effect or not. It should be easy enough to check on PC by using 'player->SetWillpower' and 'player->SetEndurance' with a character that has recieved the cure for corprus, I won't have time for that today or tomorrow but feel free to try for yourself.

Cheers WingedKagouti :D
The reason I was asking was I've heard about people creating potions to lower their resistance to common disease so they might catch the vampire disease 'poly-something-heamofelia' with characters like argonians, high elfs, red guard, and wood elfs.
I mean has anyone ever successfully created an argoian vampire (without the use of the console)?
While we're on the subject has anyone ever seen an ork/argonian/khajiit/wood elf vampire either as a character or an npc?
Also do all races that have resist disease have the same % resistance or does it vary?
Thanks :erg:

My character is an Argonian, and I've been infected with Polymorphic Hemophilia(or whatever it is), but I cured it before I turned into a vampire. I have seen a Khajit vamp. in one cave early in the game. I think it was near Maar Gan. Other than that, most of them are Dunmer, from what I've seen.

Mushrooms, vampire dust, and Corpse Meat (wrapped dead meat) all have negative properties. Perhaps if you combine these things you could catch vampire disease through the alchemy set (even with a high disease resistance). Never tried doing all the negative stuff in one formula.....sounds like an interesting idea....prolly have to name it yourself, if you try it....loonatick potion #13 is a good name.
