The jewel is in the combat - which is really, really solid, except for the climbing camera.
And a lack of consistency in what direction you move in while climbing. This game has a lot of small niggling things (why seperate Equip and Inventory screens?) but overall I'm having a ton of fun with it.
Just completed The Hero achievement (complete all discoverable, non-Board missions) during my first run through NG+. I had missed some important stuff early on in my first run, which prevented me from doing certain other missions, and I only found that out after beating up Grigori for the first time. Still, took down Grigori as a Warrior in NG+ for that nice looking Dragon's Bite, not that I ever expect to use it as I don't really like the Warrior skills or playstyle.
I think I'll go for the Duchess as beloved for my third run, if only to toss her into Grigori's mouth :p

I want to enjoy Warrior and Fighter, but the decreased mobility really stings. Every now and again I'll switch class in order to Dragon Forge a piece of equipment, and every time it's very noticeable how inefficient those two particular classes are when compared to Strider.
They can't climb fast and they lose stamina quicker while climbing, they have crap attack options while clinging to an enemy, they have no ranged attacks, they have no double-jump, and at top level, the defensive bonuses don't off-set the loss of mobility. Where a good Strider/Ranger/Assassin will simply be fast enough to be able to completely dodge an attack while still putting out damage, with Warrior in particular you have to stand there soaking up hits while you wind up an attack.
'tis a shame.

Yeah. I only ever play classes that have strider as a base if I can. And it's almost always assassin, since the masterful kill skill does the block&counter thing to boot. I can see using one of the other yellow classes, but the blue and red ones are just kind of painful to use.

And the chance of a sequel goes up. Cool. Except now I have this desire to list all the little problems with the game in the unrealistic hope someone working on the sequel might see it and fix those things.
That would be a damn long list.
