I've been taking your pawn out quite a lot on Daimon runs recently WK, so I'll gift it some level 3 novelties when I get home.

I've been taking you pack mule with me for some of my travels as well. That Rusted Longbow has done some decent work on several big things.

Excellent, that's what I like to hear!
To be honest, I don't often notice Lemmy making a huge difference to my game as he's currently set up, but I know that other players will find the build useful.
I may make him taller, more muscular and heavier, as I intend to turn him back into a fighter at some point (how he's spent most of his life, so it probably suits his stats the best).
But then he'd no longer be Lemmy.

Okay, if that worked, you should have 9 level 3 Bitterblack Novelties waiting for you!

Got one a bit ago, then checked just now and it said Invalid Data had returned my pawn...
Not sure what happened there.

Huh, weird. I'll try again when I next get one.

You don't need to, I just found some level 3 Novelties while running early BBI (restarted due to NG+) after you tried to send and they actually gave me the Augments I wanted. Must have been from the Maneaters I killed on the way to The Gazer.

Eh, I just set up my 10 port crystals at evenly distributed locations, ones that I know are important to the story.
That and the Eternal Ferrystone makes getting where I need to be that much quicker.
Sure, I understand that first time through, this can be a real ball-ache, and that port crystals are expensive and rare. But eventually, the game coalesces into two main end-game areas, with very little need to trudge across the land (unless you want to). Both are available by default through the Ferrystone menu: Gran Soren (for the
Everfall), and Bitterblack Isle for the dungeon.
Additionally, if you start a New Game Plus, your port crystals remain in place, so you don't have to buy and place them again.
Oh, and unless you're looking to impress a particular character or are desperately short on cash, don't do any optional escort missions. That massively helps cut down on the walking.
Did beat it back on PS3, so I am aware eventually it stops being quite so horrid. But there are so many easy ways they could've improved it so much more. And given how frequent that complaint was, it's strange they didn't do more then they did to cut it down in the port.
Is there ever any reason to impress a character besides the sillyness with the one plot point? I don't recall it mattering even if everybody in Gransys hated you.
Gah, strangely enough, I don't actually hate this game. Bought it twice, so I clearly like something. Mostly the combat is actually a lot of fun. Just wish the parts where you weren't actively killing things were polished.

The only thing I can think of with Affinity mattering is some merchants adding items to their inventory with high affinity. There may be a quest or two that's unavailable at lower affinity as well, but other than that affinity is mostly pointless.

Well, beat the DLC content despite being about stage 2 of the plot. Think I'm gonna finish gold dragonforging all my equipment, then curb stomp the living shit out of the plot missions.
Quick review: It's not so much a diamond in the rough as it is a diamond mine. There's a real jewel here - if you're willing to dig. Lots. Willing to put up with vast amounts of trouble, from terrible camerawork while climbing, to ludicrous inventory management. The jewel is in the combat - which is really, really solid, except for the climbing camera.
I hope it gets a sequel. With a lot of polish and streamlining, this could be legendary level gaming. For now though, expect to go wading through lots of crap to find this jewel. It was worth it to me.
