I've been using him to duplicate Love-In-The-Rough (the unique quest reward for doing the Duchess' quest line) which is used in several enhancement recipes along with being a combinable material. And you can only ever get one per playthrough of the story.
Current playtime: 88 hours...
I may have some gripes with the game, but I definitely can not deny that I'm having a lot of fun playing it.

Tried to play the game, first there was no audio (nothing worked), then tried it again a few days later and it worked. Because magic.
Anyway, I discovered that you can throw almost anyone (of no significance) off a cliff. I think the game would be improved if that were extended to *everyone*.

You can throw anyone you can lift. To pick up hostiles, you need to stun them or knock them down first.
Bolide can be used to mine with. I discovered this by accident when taking a couple of Sorcerer pawns with me for random destruction of wildlife. Any explosive that hits a mining spot will automatically "stripmine" the spot and Bolide can deliver a lot of explosions.
Also while High Bolide is great, having two go off at the same time (due to Sorcerer sync) is amazing and generally extreme overkill for anything less than a Dragonkin or boss.

Hell, you don't even need to use bolide to mine.
Just clout the node with a weapon of your choice. I think you get slightly less materials doing it this way rather than mining.

The eternal ferrystone improves the game's travel times from "OMG, WTF guys" to "Aggravating". But since the console release pre-DLC was nearly a cross country hiking simulator, that doesn't say much. The stamina regen when in the field and not in combat really needs to be tripled though.
I am wondering if they did anything about the bizzare Queen plot. I'm not at that point in the PC version yet, but god, was that strange in the original console release.

As far as I can tell, the Duchess and her story line are more or less completely unaltered. And yes, that bit of the story is rather weirdly put together and as a result she's not exactly my favourite person in the game.

So there is an augment that reduces the stamina cost of running in this fucking cross-country simulator to a sane level.
A secret augment, because fuck you.
A secret augment in the former DLC that's high enough level that you should be done the main game - and thus most of the walking - because double fuck you.
A secret augment that requires an item, because goddamnit, the devs want you to walk.
A secret augment that requires the highest tier of augment unlocking items, because really, you need the exercise.
A secret augment that then requires a lucky roll of the dice to the that particular augment once you get the rarest item because the entire dev teams has a runner's high right now, and they hate you.
Seriously, wtf.

Eh, I just set up my 10 port crystals at evenly distributed locations, ones that I know are important to the story.
That and the Eternal Ferrystone makes getting where I need to be that much quicker.
Sure, I understand that first time through, this can be a real ball-ache, and that port crystals are expensive and rare. But eventually, the game coalesces into two main end-game areas, with very little need to trudge across the land (unless you want to). Both are available by default through the Ferrystone menu: Gran Soren (for the Everfall), and Bitterblack Isle for the dungeon.
Additionally, if you start a New Game Plus, your port crystals remain in place, so you don't have to buy and place them again.
Oh, and unless you're looking to impress a particular character or are desperately short on cash, don't do any optional escort missions. That massively helps cut down on the walking.

Stamina for running cross country is definitely an issue until you have placed down a lot of portcrystals. You can find 5 free ones per playthrough: The Everfall, second part of Witchwood (requires escorting Quina to meet the witch), Bluemoon Tower, the Dragonforged's cave, and the Shadow Fort. For my first playthrough, I placed them at the Shadow Fort, Dragonforged's cave, Witchwood main entrance, Bluemoon Tower, and the Great Wall. This gave me a decent coverage of the map with the portcrystals provided, but there was still a good amount of running from place to place.
Getting more Stamina via levels/Augments helps some, but there's a lot of running until you have portcrystals in the places you want (ie. entrances to quest locations).
As far as Secret Augments go, there are three that I'd consider slotting on a more regular basis: Adhesion, Opportunism and Tenacity. I managed to find Tenacity, and it has helped my pawn survive stupid moves (like trying to tank the Exequy of a Maneater) more than once. Adhesion and Opportunism seem to be highly recommended for climbing on top of things and stabbing them to death. In general, I'd only slot Athleticism if I was running to a location to place a portcrysal. Finding the Secret Augments can be quite annoying, but the Novelties seem far more common than the other cursed objects.
