I too am truly impressed by how Bioware appears to have wrung every ounce of originality (haha) out of DA:O.

Does it have a rat killing quest? Do we have a Wisecracking Sidekick? Can we be Eeeeevil? Do we get to grab collars? What's the ancient eeeevil? Do the elves have pointy ears? Which nations can be enslaved by necromancy? Am I The Chosen One? Can my character become a gay homosexual should I wish to make that lifestyle choice? Are there celebrity voices? Can I sex everyone by giving them books? Does it use a properly brown aesthetic? Does it have a Plot Twist? Does anyone have a Hilarious Accent? How many Marilyn Manson songs are in the soundtrack?

There's only so much that you do with a Klingon rip off. In the game's fiction humans have only been part of the "Galactic community" for about two decades, so it's too early to have analogues of Worf (i.e raised by humans, part of their military).
