So the forums were down for about 6 hours earlier today.
Apparently MySQL decided the best thing for me to wake up to on a Sunday was a broken table and therefore 1700 error emails.
It's all fixed now, and the table was one of the minor ones so it's all good.
Oh, and another thing. Please don't email me saying there's a problem and include your password in there.
There's no reason for my to know your password, we don't store it in a format that is readable, so please don't do it!

I was kinda lost for those 6 hours! I also needed to get to my PMs :( 1700 emails? Yikes! Glad it wasn't anything too serious. It's great being back again anyway! :D :thumb:
Maybe you could set up a system where a brick falls on your head, waking you up, when TTLG goes down again? :joke: That way, we won't have to be punished like this again! :joke:

If it seriously submits an email EVERY time that page is displayed (even when you refresh to check), I'm surprised you only got 1700 emails

He was probably blacklisted by his ISP after those 1700 emails...
:p

The number of visitors online always falls dramatically when there's an error and it would have only affected people who were logged in.
Still, I think I got off quite lightly.

I think I might be responsible for at least 5 of those.

Is there problems with the server? For the past few months, TTLG has been on and off more times then a pair of socks. When i click the link to this site, i wonder if i'm actually going to be able to view it or not! What goes?

It's not down that much, jeez!
Anyway, this time was due to a lightning storm that took the T1 down.
Saam is currently on the phone to the ISP as the line is not supposed to go down in the event of a nearby electrical storm.

Yeah, seemed to be down for a few hours today. Though I must admit it's the first time I've noticed such a thing...
