So get cracking :thumb:
I'd love to be able to play all my old DOS games on my new PC. It would just be more convenient then switching between two computers if I want to go from say Splinter Cell to Bioforge :D

I have the CD version of System Shock 1 and tried tried to run it in Dosbox. First, I tried to install it directly from CD running the script install.bat, but that hangs forever. Then I found this guide:
(

But still, if I finally run
c:
cd sshock
cdshock
I get an error message: "Cannot run directly from CD. Run executable from hard drive." Any ideas what has gone wrong?

So what? I see no reason to make a new thread for the same topic.

I never managed to run anything in Dos mode with sound on a Windoze system.

Probably not. In how far does all of this help me running the game in a Linux Dosbox?

You never mentioned Linux before.
The easiest thing is probably to just download SS-P and run that through DOSBox manually.

Because I never saw a game that cares on which OS the dosbox runs.

Hm, I'll try that. Thank you.
