The wait is almost over. In 9 hours, 11am CT / 12pm ET the QuakeCon keynote will begin and with it the gameplay reveal of DOOM Eternal. Let's hope it's a good one.

That's a neat little invasion mode that they've included. Sounds great.

I like the environmental design there, especially in the "Hell on Earth" segment.

On that note, I always felt it was a shame that SnapMap and the multiplayer (which, I'll admit, I never tried) used a stripped-down version of the game with most of the options disabled.
I hated all the immersion-breaking prompts (like the enemy highlight when you could finish them, quest arrows, etc.), and the fact that you couldn't turn that off in custom maps made me never want to play any.
Hopefully they will fix that irregularity this time around and let you actually play custom maps using the proper singleplayer experience.

heey they fixed the mancubus, not bad. cacodemon still looks like a wilted testicle though. with teeth. and tiny useless arms. did someone forget to tell id that the only cool thing with tiny useless arms is a T-Rex?

The movement mechanics seem like they're getting to be a bit... much. You can walk, run, dash, mantle, jump, double-jump, parkour, and grapple. What the fuck, this is Doom, not Tomb Raider.

I for one welcome the increased movement and verticality, since DOOM is all about movement. In any case I loved the 2016 DOOM so I'm super stoked for this. A shame they are ditching Snapmap, since it become really versatile as it got more updates, but at least we will actually get proper single player DLC.

Does anyone know why the former humans appeared to be fighting the demons even before the player showed up? I thought that usually only happened when one baddie friendly fired another. I didn't play DOOM 16 so I don't know if there's a plot reason for it.
