No one's complaining that the chainsaw animations are way too long and will get extremely repetitive? Worse yet, if they aren't cancellable it will lead to stupid deaths.
Like the original Doom games, I imagine the chainsaw will be a flash in the pan novelty item rather than mainstay weapon. It's not more tedious than the bayonet in GoW.

I thought that gameplay footage was awesome, I will play THE SHIT out of this! For me Bethesda won E3, Fallout 4 already looks like a GOTY contender. All of you king nerd hipsters can nit-pick and over-analyse a big dumb shooter like Doom to the cows come home, I'll actually buy and play it for what it is.
Not a fan of Snapmap however. This Halo Forge-esque "console-friendly map making" is not a substitute for actual modding. It remains to be seen if Doom 4 will support proper modding (eg importing and using your own assets into the game).
Rage not living up to sales expectations; Zenimax restructuring Id; Doom 4 development being reboot; Carmack fucking off to VR land are probably the best things to happen with Id for a while. No longer chasing the graphics genie and having to back to drawing board with Doom 4 to design a "killer app" that's about core essence of what Doom is all have seemed to bear only ripe fruit.

Didn't notice that anybody posted this video yet.
Gotta say it looks like some classic Doom twitch shooting to me.

It's like Doom + Bulletstorm + Quake 3 arena on steroids. I love it.

That vid looked a lot better. I still don't like the finishing moves or the pause while you pick a weapon. And what's with the bouncing, bracketed, items that spill out when you kill certain demons? It looks like something out of Mario Bros.

Looks ok, but still very generic-modern-shooter.
Just once I'd like to see an FPS with pretty modern graphics, but no changes to 1995's gameplay. Maybe there's a Kickstarter niche for such a game...

Looks like Doom with a few weird concessions to modern-day FPSes in that it has ADS and finishing moves, which aren't exactly necessary in anything named 'Doom'. Still, it looks pretty and moves fast, yet has an assured weight and heft to the shooty-bang bits, so I'll be there to take it to the prom when it's done powdering its nose.

They're called pinatas. At parties, children will take baseball bats to these colorful facsimiles of animals to access the candy and explosive ammunition hidden inside.
