Hi.
I installed the demo of Doom 3 the other night on my dual core Windows 7 x64 pc (I have an Nvidia Geforce 7100 - 256 mb video card, and 4 gb of ram), and no matter what I do, the game crashes immediately with the message "Doom 3 has stopped working". I tried every compatibility mode and running as administrator, but the same thing happens :(. I tried looking for a patch or something online but didn't find anything. Anything I can do about this? Thanks in advance

My first guess would be to do something with your drivers. Are you using the Nvidia drivers that installed direct off the DVD when you first installed Win7? If you are, that's probably your problem. I remember them having some goofy issues with OpenGL, and had to grab the latest before I could get some of my stuff working.

My PC came with Win7 already installed. I checked the Nividia drivers and the version is 8.15.11.8637. I'll see if I can find more recent ones. Thanks for the help

I installed the latest drivers, but it made no difference :(

Hmm, that's strange.
My problem is that the game loads up fine, but that everything looks blocky and i can't see anything. It's hard to explain, but it's like the game isn't loading the graphics properly for some reason. I have W7 x64 as well.

You might also try the disable
desktop composition/compositing/whatever compatibility mode - I heard that Aero can hose OpenGL apps.
This actually worked for me. Woot! :)
I dunno if that really would help, but have you tried that? You might also make sure doom 3 is patched to latest version. (1.3.1 I think it is.)

I only tried the demo (I'll have to check what version it is). I was scared of buying the full game and not have it work at all in the end. I'll have a look at those forums and see if it works. Thanks
