Wow, weird. Are your PK4's corrupt? You can find out by comparing the checksums against the ones (
http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/doom/#head-7d0bca80148ede12630b1dfcb6310c842181ca63) on the Doom 3 linux page.
The pk4 checksums are in the "patch installation" section. They should be the same as your files.

Tough question. I've actually considered it before. The game did come out a very long time ago, but it still uses current technology. No, it aint DX11, but neither are most of the games coming out these days. They're mostly in the DX9 ballpark, because that is all the consoles (which control the market) can handle. There's also at least one more mainstream game slated to use the Doom 3 engine: Brink.

1. corrupt driver

I already solved it, there were some damaged files in the pak002.pk4 only, thanks for replying:D
