In my lifetime, 3 games REALLY hooked me in. Especially on the mod scene. System Shock 2 (duh), Doom 2 and Half-Life. Doom 2 in particular just blew me away, and the mod scene kept the game going strong for decades afterward. Absolutely love the game + the numerous good TCs that came out for it.
