Does support my Acer E945GM motherboard Core2Duo processors?

I have an Acer E945GM motherboard (from desktop Acer Aspire E650).

This motherboard has LGA775 socket.

Does it support Core2Duo processors?

I do not need a better performance due to an upgrade. My task is better CPU-efficiency (less power consumption, may be less performance).

Have you tried asking Acer?

The(http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/chipsets/945g/945g-overview.htm) chipset supports Core 2 but that doesn't necessarily guarantee the rest of the motherboard & BIOS will allow it.

No, but i saw a Acer-official-compatible processors list.

It does not include any Conroe-based processors. :erg:
