has anyone else had success with replacing the sounds like Sneaksie did? It just won't work for me. I don't know what I could be doing wrong...I'm replacing the t3main file with the "release" version. I would love to include this in Minimalist 1.3 if I could.

on that note how about adding garrett foot steps for when he is crouched, that was the game wrecking "bug"/feature for me!

Just like how being silent when crouching is realistic?
Oh my God! No footsteps while crouching! The game's ruined! My life's over!
You all will whine about anything.

There are instances where you actually have to crouch, or will want to crouch, but not making any noise when walking crouched will make a serious difference, unlike crouching making you invulnerable to melee attacks.

Sissy thieves that use crouch while fighting? :bored: I bet you hit the wrong button in your panic and meant to run. Sure you did . Consider yourself curled up into a fetal position, sucking thumbs and crying, "please do not hurt me." The enemy become dumbfounded and can not concentrate to hit you anymore ... :cheeky:
On another note as New Horizon said, would be nice if crouch/creep could be tweaked so not completely silent when dancing a few feet from the enemy. Damn, we need an T3 Ultimate Difficulty mod. Yah.

hmmm, strange. I've done that but I can't get it to work. Very odd. I'll keep trying.
I'd tried it 50 times back months ago, and it never worked (though for whatever reason, it DID work for the mechanical eye sound...), but when I tried with the new release exe (based on Harwin's post) it worked instantly. So the exe is definitely the key.

How do you have your system setup with the editor? Did you put it in a separate install folder or did you put the editor directly into your main installation folder?
Single folder - method is here, bottom half of page: (

Hmmm, I have mine setup with dual folders. One for T3 and the other for T3ED. Wonder if that could be the problem?
I'll test it out on my 98 partition.

Just tried it out on my win 98 partition with the T3MainRelease exe. Still no go. I wonder if there is something else that the editor changes that I might need to include. Hmmmm.

In Thief 1 and 2, crouching was my default mode of travel when I got to a "populated" area, since it was quieter(but not silent!) I don't understand the bug/feature/whatever-you-want-to-call-it about being invulnerable during melee attacks. I put this to the test in Mission 1(or is it 2? just after training...) I alerted some guards, crouched out into the light, and a few seconds later... dead Garrett.
I find myself purposely not going into crouch mode just to give the AI a fighting chance on hearing me... That seems kind of stupid, but I really do want there to be some risk.
And... Haven't tested this one out - Does wall hugging really make you invisible? Even if you're in direct light? What if an alerted guard is searching for you? Will he not see you if you're suddenly hugging the wall? What if you're hugging a tree? :weird: :nono:

Wall hugging provides a bonus to your light level. It will always make you a little less visible, but it won't save you in a well lit place.
