I'd like some collective moaning for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic as boiling cauldrons of shit.
The lab at which I work- the entire air conditioning broke under the extreme load of all the electricity and in a fit of desperation I started opening up containers of liquid nitrogen and liquid helium and pouring them all over the place. Nothing quite feels as good in stifling heat as a white, pure cloud of nitrogen. It's about the equivalent of taking a bath in champagne.

Right now it's 104 F in my little corner of Northern California. A pleasant change from about a week ago when it was 118. 'Round here that's what we call "a bit warm".
Edit: Correction, it's 107 right now. Still a lot better than last week, though.

Just how big a fan does your ass need?

Is this the part where us West Coasters make a passing mention of our current 23 degree weather?

It's hot enough to have had my A/C fixed. It's like 90 or something.

Oh the hotness. A little over a week ago we had 57% humidity, and compared to how it's been feeling lately, that was almost cool!(And it was hot I tells you, in the 90s) So I can only imagine how high the humidity has been jumping lately.
I'm not sure if we've went over 100 degrees yet, but something tells me we probably have. Last night at around 2:00 or so a.m. it was 94 degrees. Now that's just not right.
I fully sympathize with a lot of the other states though, the ones that break past 120 and such. Eeeeh.
A high 90s summer ain't no fun with hyperhidrosis either, no sir! *Holds hands and feet out as a sprinkler system for everyone else to enjoy* ;)
The thing to keep in mind though: Pools rule, people! I just wish I had one. :(
If anything(for those of you in the U.S.), get a three day free pass at -cue Village People- the Y, M, C, A.. and take advantage of that glistenin' cool water! :D
(Thanks to this hot, hot weather, I have learned the joys of boxers. They're thin, cool, and comfeh... more so than any shorts I have hiding around here. They're not just for men anymore!)

From the 18C comfort of my air-conditioned lab I mock thee.

Pity the poor folks in Saint Louis today. Most of the city is without power from a storm last night, and according to the news it's a very humid 100 F there now.
